From 1995 to 2002, Mary Crotty worked at First Union National Bank and its successor Wachovia National Bank. For the majority of those seven years, she handled all communications for the Small Business Banking Division, a unit with more than 400 employees that supported a bank sales force of over 3,000. Participating in every process, system, policy and compliance project within the division, she provided its employees with the information they needed to serve the division’s customers, meet its business objectives and comply with its regulatory obligations.
During the merger between First Union and Wachovia, Mary managed the team that produced and facilitated the division’s merger-related training for all products, processes and systems at its four sites.
In addition, she created and facilitated a Small Business Advisory Board made up of customers from across the bank’s footprint who met on a quarterly basis for several years. Mary planned the meetings, developed the agendas, engaged speakers and circulated the board’s feedback to key bank leadership.
Freelance Writing Career
